A new approach to Physical Therapy

Authentic. Intuitive. Empowered.

My Approach

EMME was born out of a commitment to my patients to provide 100% customizable 1:1 care. At EMME, rather than being passed off to an aide or assistant, patients should expect that they will be heard and be an active participant in developing their treatment plan with a skilled physical therapist. I believe in a whole-body approach that aims to discover the root cause of your concerns, not in a bandaid approach that only addresses symptoms. My personal goal is that my patients develop a sense of empowerment and self efficacy while we work together in a space where it is encouraged to develop a healthier relationship with their body.

Services

Orthopedic Physical Therapy

Each treatment session will include a movement assessment and a combination of hands-on treatment and exercise prescription. The goal of each session will be to address your current complaints (i.e. stiffness, discomfort) and to execute an individualized plan to improve your ability to move with more confidence.

Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

Pelvic floor physical therapy traditionally addresses bowel, bladder, and sexual dysfunction. Everyone has a pelvic floor! I am trained to treat men, women, and gender non-conforming folks. I have a special interest in addressing various pain presentations (i.e. vulvodynia, pudendal neuralgia, sacroiliac joint dysfunction) to help you get back to your daily activities.

Acrobatic & Performing Arts Rehab

I have extensive experience with performing artists and dancers alike. I am skilled in performing pre-pointe assessments to ensure a safe transition through a novice ballerina’s career and beyond. I have a special interest in working with acrobatic performers and aerialists, as these activities overlap with my own interests.

Personal Training

Personal training is about more than just a return to baseline levels of function. I want to help you perform at your highest capacity, regardless of your chosen sport or activity. Lets reach your next PR together.

Meet Madison, PT, DPT, COMT

My interest in physical therapy began as a gymnast recovering from multiple orthopedic injuries. At that time, I experienced the physical and psychological impact of high-quality, holistic care. I strive to offer that same type of individualized care to my patients.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Science from Seattle University in 2017, during which time I worked as an ACE-certified personal trainer and mat Pilates instructor, gaining valuable experience in exercise prescription. I went on to complete my Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Regis University in 2021, where I developed a passion for pelvic health and completed Level 1 & 2 Pelvic Health training through the Providence Institute of Practice, Education, & Research. After earning my Doctorate, I pursued Aspire’s year-long Certification in Orthopedic Manual Therapy and additional training in Visceral Manipulation through the Barral Institute.

My integrative approach allows me to provide care through a unique lens. I believe the body keeps the score and directly influences how we move through the world. Inclusive care addresses not only how you show up in my office today, but the story you believe about your body. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I have special understanding for how external forces impact our day to day experiences. I strive to create a safe space for all patients with respect for their background and orientation.

My treatment philosophy blends current scientific evidence, clinical expertise, and patient preferences to create individualized, whole-body care.

Outside of work, I enjoy rock climbing, yoga, hiking, skiing, cooking, and spending time with my three fur babies.

  • “A lifetime of fitness, injuries, surgeries, and childbirth has made physical therapy a regular part of my life for more than 35 years. While I’ve worked with some excellent physical therapists over the years, I’ve never experienced anything like this.

I initially came in expecting “pelvic floor therapy,” but what I’ve gained from working with Madison has been nothing short of a whole-body transformation. She consistently reinforces that we are a whole system, not just a collection of parts. Because the pelvic floor sits at the center of the body, it connects everything above and below it—and she treats it exactly that way.

The intake process was incredibly thorough, going all the way back to injuries and surgeries from my teens that had created lifelong movement patterns—tightness on one side, hyperextension on the other—that no other bodyworker had ever identified so clearly. The care I’ve received goes far beyond the treatment room: thoughtful “homework” that includes breathing, deep muscular work through the ribs, standing differently, and even re-learning how I work out.

Every session is truly whole-body focused. This doctor is exceptional, and I only wish every healthcare provider looked at patients this way. If you want to be treated as a whole person—not just a diagnosis—this is absolutely the place to go for anything and everything PT-related.

  • “If you're looking for a short and sweet review: Madison is a professional, skilled, and kind therapist with a holistic approach. 12/10, would recommend to anyone. Details below:

Madison, my therapist, is AMAZING! Her holistic approach considers all aspects of my lifestyle, and has helped my OAB where everything else failed. I tried medication, Botox, SNM, nothing--but working with Madison changed my life. I don't feel chained to the bathroom anymore and I feel like I have my life back. Madison has been kind, open, communicative, and professional. She always meets me where I am and helps me achieve my goals by working together, not just telling me what to do. We talk, laugh, and enjoy our sessions, and she makes me feel comfortable and at ease while she works with me.

If I could give Madison more than 5 stars I would. If you're considering pelvic floor therapy, I cannot recommend her enough!”

  • “Madison did a methodical and thorough evaluation to identify the source of my pain. Then, she focused on various treatment approaches, using slightly different but highly complementary therapy techniques. Combined with her recommended home therapy exercises, my pain has been almost completely resolved and I'm starting to be able to resume normal activities.”

  • “Madison was the first PT who made me feel like I was going to be able to recover and get back to where I was prior to my shoulder injury. I had been to a few other clinics before I found EMME and never felt seen or heard in the way that I do now. After our first session, I had hope and felt empowered in my care. I felt that there was a path to recovery for the first time in a while! I am now back to playing Roller Derby and am feeling even better than I did prior to my initial injury. 10/10 would recommend.”

  • “I never thought that the key to addressing my knee pain was actually in my foot! Madison gave me a series of specific foot and ankle exercises and specific tools for balance/stability. I can now squat and run without knee pain. I’ve been a rock climber for ~6 years and never realized how much my climbing shoes were negatively impacting my foot mobility and screwing up my squat technique. I learn something new every session and always have a good time!”
